The president of Australia

 The  president of Australia

Australia does not have a President as the head of state. The head of state is the Monarch, currently Queen Elizabeth II, who is represented by the Governor General. The head of government is the Prime Minister, currently Scott Morrison.

The Prime Minister is appointed by the Governor General and is typically the leader of the political party with the most seats in the House of Representatives. The Prime Minister and their government are responsible to the Parliament, which is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Prime Minister is the leader of the country, directs the government and leads the Cabinet. The Prime Minister is elected by the members of the political party in power, and can serve as long as they have the support of the majority of the members in the House of Representatives.
